At Docrates clinic, you can book an appoinment with the oncologist without a referral. An important aspect of our services is to have as prompt an access to our specialists, diagnostics and treatment as possible.
The new Docrates Clinic was opened in Ruoholahti, Helsinki in April 2009. The clinic is a state-of-the-art unit for radiation therapy, and the central operations also include a specialist-level outpatient and drug therapy center. We treat both Finnish and foreign patients.
Docrates Clinic utilises the newest technologies for cancer imaging and radiation therapy. In the external radiation therapy, we were the first in Finland to adopt the RapidArc-technology and the first in Scandinavia in the private sector. Docrates Clinic is also the only unit in Finland providing HDR-brachytherapy for prostate cancer.
All of the drugs that are approved by the pharmaceutical authorities for cancer treatment are available for drug therapy at Docrates Clinic. For some of the patients, the treatment options may be expanded through drug study medications that may be available when participating in clinical drug trials. The studies are approved by the ethical committees of the university hospitals and closely monitored by the authorities.
Docrates provides services through the treatment and follow-up periods for those with a cancer diagnosis. The treatment is individualized for each person, depending on the life circumstances and the type of cancer. The goal is to maintain the optimal quality of life.
The Clinic supplements the services of the public health services: we treat patients with financial commitments by the municipalities and the employer payment commitments, for example. We invest in the academic research and in cooperation with the pharmaceutical and the biomedical equipment manufacturers in research and development. With the help of the cooperative network of top experts, we can always provide the newest cancer treatment methods and expertise to our patients.
We have an inpatient ward and lab services available for the Clinic. With regard to the laboratory studies, Docrates Clinic has a broad cooperative network that covers all of the research needs for cancer diagnostics.
We also help our clients with other services through our cooperative network as necessary. In the future, there will be business premises available for the companies supplementing the clinic's services at the research and services center in Saukonpaasi.
